Suvin Chino Wide Tapered Trousers

REPRISE is an ongoing Graphpaper project that revisits materials and designs from past collections, reinterpreting them through a contemporary perspective and giving them new value.

The project works with surplus fabrics from previous collections, as well as materials that have been used in the past. Their history and context are carried forward, while being re-edited from a present-day point of view.

Rather than simply recreating what came before, REPRISE brings existing ideas and materials back into form within a new context, revealing their inherent qualities and allowing them to be seen in a different way.

This piece is made from upcycled deadstock West Point fabric, woven from SUVIN cotton with a soft, full-bodied texture. Its natural luster and resilience create a fabric that feels both structured and relaxed when worn.

SUVIN is an exceptionally rare extra-long staple cotton, accounting for approximately 0.002% of global cotton production. Grown in southern India, it was developed by crossing Sujatha cotton with St. Vincent, a variety with roots in Sea Island cotton.

Carefully picked by hand over several harvests, cotton from the first one or two pickings is distinguished as “SUVIN GOLD” for its consistent quality. Rich in natural oils, the fiber has a silk-like luster, smooth feel, and depth of color.

The result is a fabric that preserves the inherent qualities of this rare cotton.
